Our thanks go to Elizabeth Semper O’Keefe from Shropshire Archives who joined us for the morning following the readings and video clips. Elizabeth gave an entertaining account about her research and digitisation of local newspapers during the First World War years. She also told us about the knitting that went on to support the troops with warm caps, balaclavas, gloves and socks. Even the Queen was said to have a set of knitting needles in every room of the palace! Again thank you to her and everyone who took part and supported the event.
